What to Look For in a General Construction Company

Are you looking to hire a general construction company for your custom home? If so, it helps to look for the following features in any company you consider:
                         
Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Work Practices
                         
If eco-construction is important to you, then you should seek out a construction company that is LEED-certified or at least tries to use sustainable materials and eco-friendly construction practices. Most general construction companies will be happy to let you know if they are LEED-certified and what the status of their insurance is. All you have to do is ask.
                         
Insurance Coverage
                         
You want to make sure that the general construction company is properly insured. Otherwise, you as the property owner could be liable for accidents and injuries that occur, even if you aren’t on the property at the time. Look for a policy that has at least a two million dollar coverage amount.
